Junebug Productions, 2014
Lighting Designer
Created by Junebug Productions and the Ensemble
Directed by Stephanie McKee
"GOMELA/to return: Movement of Our Mother Tongue" is an original dance theater performance that highlights the stories of New Orleans’ African American communities and their histories featuring award-winning artists–poet Sunni Patterson, trumpeterTroy Sawyer and Kumbuka African Drum and Dance Collective. Join us in a journey that connects the past and the present highlighting ancient art forms (African dance and drumming) and new artistic expressions (jazz, spoken word, hip-hop) that make evident the connection between Africa, Haiti, and New Orleans.
